Overview The PCB Designer III is responsible for translating electrical schematics into manufacturable printed circuit board layouts that meet functional, mechanical, and reliability requirements. This role involves the design, documentation, and review of PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools, with a focus on performance, signal integrity, and manufacturability. The PCB Designer collaborates closely with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to ensure successful product development from concept through production. A strong understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes, design standards (e.g., IPC), and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.

Must be on-site in Carlsbad, CA.

Responsibilities

Schematic Capture & Review: Collaborate with electrical engineers to interpret schematics and validate netlists

PCB Layout Design: Create and optimize PCB layouts using EDA tools Mentor Xpedition

Component Placement: Strategically place components to ensure electrical integrity, manufacturability, and mechanical constraints

Routing: Perform signal and power routing including high-speed, differential pairs, impedance-controlled traces, and RF/mixed-signal layouts. Provide technical support to project teams as required from design to build

Documentation Generation: Produce fabrication, assembly, and drill drawings, and Gerber/ODB++ files for manufacturing

Comply with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a PCB Designer.

Minimum of four (4) years of experience with Mentor Xpedition.

Internediate Design experience in RF and Power.

High School Diploma or GED.

IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) Certification (Preferred).

Additional Information

This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.

Pay Range:

$34.48 - $42.26 hourly . Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
