Overview

We are seeking a Principal Network Architect to join our Tier 3 consulting team as a technical leader and client-facing expert. This principal consultant role bridges client business needs and technical implementation while elevating the capabilities of our engineering teams. Your consultative approach and communication skills are as important as your technical expertise. You will present solutions to technical teams and executive stakeholders, adapting your message to your audience and building trust through understanding client business needs. Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical consultant for complex client engagements; conduct discovery sessions to understand client environments, identify pain points, and gather detailed requirements. Translate client needs into comprehensive architectural diagrams and technical documentation; design scalable, secure, and efficient network solutions aligned with technical requirements and business objectives. Produce clear and detailed designs so Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers can implement with minimal ambiguity. Act as the technical escalation point for engineering teams; mentor and develop Tier 1 and Tier 2 resources through knowledge sharing, technical reviews, and hands-on coaching. Lead cross-vendor design efforts across Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Juniper, UniFi, and Arista platforms; design data center architectures, SD-WAN solutions, security frameworks, cloud network integrations, and wireless systems. Present solutions to both technical teams and executive stakeholders; adapt communications to audience and build client trust by delivering practical, implementable solutions. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends; bring innovative thinking to client challenges. Maintain focus on quality and detail while managing multiple projects in a dynamic consulting environment. Qualifications

8+ years of progressive network architecture and engineering experience. Expert-level knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies. Hands-on experience designing enterprise-scale network architectures. Proficiency with network diagramming and documentation tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io). Strong understanding of data center networking, virtualization, and storage networks. Experience with SD-WAN technologies and WAN optimization. Knowledge of network security principles including firewalls, VPN, segmentation, and zero-trust architectures. Proven experience with multiple platforms from our core technology stack: Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet (FortiGate), Aruba, Juniper, UniFi, Arista. Understanding of Cloud Networking best practices and architecture for Azure, AWS, or GCP. Deep expertise in at least 3 of the following: Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco routing/switching, FortiGate routing/switching/firewall, Aruba wireless/switching, Juniper routing/switching, UniFi infrastructure, Arista Networking, Wireless Access Points. Proven ability to conduct client discovery sessions and translate requirements into technical designs. Experience analyzing client pain points and developing actionable solutions. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience with junior technical staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and executive audiences. Ability to create clear technical specifications for implementation teams. Project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements. Preferred Skills

CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent expert-level certification CCNP, JNCIP, or higher-level professional certifications Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) Fortinet NSE 4, NSE 7, or NSE 8 certification Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) or Aruba Certified Design Professional (ACDP) Cisco CCIE or CCNP Enterprise certification Juniper JNCIS or JNCIP certification Experience architecting multi-vendor environments integrating our technology stack Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) with relevant certifications Wireless network design experience (enterprise and high-density environments) Load balancing and application delivery controller experience Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP) Experience with network automation and infrastructure as code (Python, Ansible, Terraform) ITIL or project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) Experience with network monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco DNA Center, Aruba Central) Previous consulting or professional services experience Experience developing training materials and knowledge base content Familiarity with SDDC (Software-Defined Data Center) architectures Where You'll Work

Moser has offices in Indianapolis, IN, and Baltimore, MD. This position will require a hybrid/onsite work schedule out of our downtown or Castleton office, or combined with going to client sites. Salary and Benefits
