About the Role:
Reporting to the ANZ General Manager
Meals & Beverage, the Category Development Lead plays a strategic and analytical role that sits between marketing, sales, and retailers
driving growth for The Arnotts Group (TAG) and our retail partners via validated insights, range, and executional excellence.
The category lead will work closely with marketing, sales & external stakeholders to provide real time, data led insights to guide commercial strategy & drive business outcomes. Youll lead the end-to-end development of the category strategy that connects our overall TAG portfolio objectives across Stock, Soup & Juice with validated category growth drivers that delivers mutual value for customers, consumers & TAG.
Responsible for one direct report, the role is a critical cog in connecting our internal & external operation and delivering plans that will maintain TAG8s status as category captain across the M&B portfolio.
What your days look like:
Develop & drive category growth strategy across Stock, Soup & Juice across the ANZ retail landscape
Identify scalable growth drivers like health trends, pack format shifts, or channel opportunities to guide portfolio strategy development.
Work with marketing to align brand plans to category opportunities to drive growth.
Lead category range review submissions, converting data into insights into compelling storytelling
Support in development of long term joint business planning with key customer partners.
Develop new business opportunities that unlocks incremental growth for the business.
Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to inform activation & execution
Own the GTM plan with sales and marketing
Embed executional excellence in range, distribution & portfolio management
Step change category capability within the team and lead a category & insights exec

Hands-on SALES & CATEGORY leader looking for an autonomous role to own.
Strong experience in a senior business & category role within FMCG
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving business growth
Strong proficiency in business management software such as IRI, Quantium, Synergy
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
Experience in food or meal related categories is highly desirable
Strategic thinking and problem-solving, with strong experience of using market analysis and insights to drive market share and business growth
Bachelors degree in business, commerce or a related field
