General Manager
is responsible for ensuring the profitable operations of the organization and alignment with the Ace Hardware platform. The General Manager executes platform strategy, leads and guides business functions, and advocates for the internal brand through positive internal and external relationships. Key performance objectives in order of priority with projected time allocation: Business Operations Oversight:
Oversees and manages operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and achievement of business objectives (40%).
Cultural Leadership:
Acts as cultural champion and visionary to ensure a highly skilled, satisfied and engaged workforce (20%).
Financial and Risk Oversight:
Oversees financial performance to ensure profitability and risk management (15%).
Brand Ambassador : Represents the organization in the marketplace and maintains strong communication channels (5%). Note: Ten percent of time is reserved for ancillary responsibilities and activities unrelated to the performance objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Interpersonal Responsibilities Oversee the organization’s management team and hold them accountable to KPIs in the AOP. Meet to discuss performance, goal progress, opportunities, training needs, and barriers. Support each manager with team leadership and interdepartmental communication. Act as a representative and advocate of the operating company, and communicate information between the operating company and the platform. Keep leadership informed of operational performance, goal progress, successes, and major issues. Seek support as needed for large concerns and action plans. Operational Responsibilities Oversee operations ensuring work meets brand standards and delivers high customer satisfaction. Implement operational controls and monitor KPIs. Troubleshoot and take corrective actions. Facilitate communication between operational departments for capacity planning. Partner with marketing to develop strategies, budgets, and platform integrations. Partner with sales to execute sales initiatives, achieve sales goals, manage Key Accounts, and develop new service agreements. Develop and maintain external partnerships to support operations (training, continuous improvement, and other needs). Organizational Responsibilities Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including KPIs and forecasted staffing, resources, and capital expenditures. Set financial budgets, approve financial requests, develop company goals, and manage profitability. Review reports and track progress to stay aligned with targets. Implement corrective measures as needed. Lead improvements to enhance efficiency and performance. Stay current with industry technology and processes. Identify expansion opportunities and manage risk, including safety, financial, and legal risk. Foster a culture aligned with company vision, mission, and values. Oversee workforce satisfaction and engagement, including succession planning and career development. Support the reward and recognition program with merit increases and promotions. What you need to succeed: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field 5 years of management experience, preferably in the industry Clear and concise communication with customers, team and leadership; ability to build partnerships Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Financial acumen and ability to respond to trends Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment Ability to read, analyze and utilize reports Ability to use computer systems to input, access, modify or output information Ability to train, develop, motivate, and lead in a way that supports our culture Why should you join our team?
