Job Title
Key Responsibilities: Aerial Fiber Installation: Install and secure fiber optic cables in aerial environments. Set poles, anchors, and guys; perform strand placement and cable lashing. Assist with aerial splicing and termination of fiber optic cables. Equipment Operation: Safely operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, ladders, and climbing gear. Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance checks. Safety and Compliance: Follow OSHA, NESC, and company safety protocols. Attend daily safety meetings and consistently use PPE. Site Management: Implement traffic control measures at job sites. Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair aerial fiber issues. Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure network reliability. Documentation and Communication: Accurately record job progress, equipment usage, and safety logs. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients. Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or trade certification in telecommunications preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in fiber optic installation. Valid driver's license required; CDL Class A or B strongly preferred. Must pass bg check, drug screening, motor vehicle check, and DOT physical. Preferred Certifications: Bucket truck and aerial lift operation. Pole climbing. OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety. First Aid/CPR. Technical Skills: Proficient in aerial fiber installation, pole framing, cable lashing, and anchoring. Ability to read construction drawings and fiber installation plans. Familiarity with NESC and TIA standards. Comfortable using digital tools (smartphones, tablets, laptops) for documentation. Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors. Comfortable working at heights and in varied weather conditions.
