Overview A New York City-based healthcare network is currently seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to their team at one of their facilities in Brooklyn. In this role, the Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for assisting providers with clinical services and administrative tasks to support the patient population.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Hours:

8am to 5pm- 6pm

Setting:

Clinic

Responsibilities

Warmly greet and engage in friendly conversation with patients and guests

Answer telephones and schedule patient appointments accurately in computer system

Check-in patients and prepare and process appropriate forms; check-out patients at the end of the visit

Take complete and accurate IB messages from all individuals contacting the medical facility by telephone

Collect cash from patients for charges and co-payments and provides patient receipts

Maintain effective communication with patients, families, peers and other members of the healthcare team

Participate and supports the care team in direct patient care

Perform a variety of patient care functions based on age-specific needs using age appropriate communication techniques

Collect and accurately labels specimens; prepare specimens and required paperwork for collection by affiliated laboratories

Restock exam/treatment rooms and medical supply inventory on a daily basis

Complete all necessary forms in an accurate and timely manner

Assist with various medical procedures, as required

Perform other job-related duties, as required

Qualifications

1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in an Ambulatory Care setting

High School Diploma / GED

Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA)

NYS Medical Assistant (MA) certification

Experience and ability to navigate an Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)

Desired Skills

3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in an Ambulatory Care setting

Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree

Working knowledge of Epic EMRs
