With over 2,400 employees in facilities throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America, our unique combination of creativity and tenacity activates big ideas on a global stage. he Instrumentation Technician II will install test equipment in development vehicles such as thermocouples, transducers, sensors, fiberoptics, accelerometers, strain gages and data acquisition systems. The role will build, modify, adjust and calibrate installed devices. This role will build and install low voltage wire harnesses to drawings and schematics. The Instrumentation Technician II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.

As an Instrumentation Technician Il, you will be responsible for: Build and install low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary battery and electrical systems Install, adjust and calibrate sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers, strain gages and data acquisition systems Collaborate with Customers, Fabricators, and Mechanics to identify required locations for sensor installation according to Instrumentation Requirement List (IRL) Perform complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation according to Instrumentation Quality Assurance (IQA) Diagnose faulty low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring systems and repair Work with electronic functional and measurement tools, such as power supplies, function generators, and multimeter Maintain records by entering notes into service repair requests Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up To be considered as an Instrumentation Technician Il, you will need: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician Experience performing soldering, crimping, tube bending, component layout and packaging on vehicles or subsystems Able to follow procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects, such as work requests, shop procedures and shop manuals, publications or schematic diagrams Good organizational skills and works well independently and as part of a team Good communication and time management skills Good attention to detail. A successful candidate may also have: Certificate in Automotive Technology or related National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s) State Mechanic Certification(s) Valid driver’s license Knowledge of proper installation of thermocouples and pressure transducers. Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
