Preconstruction Manager – Design/Build General Contractor (Onsite, Lancaster County Area)
Seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join a growing general contracting firm known for its hands-on, design/build approach and collaborative culture. This is a newly created position designed to strengthen the company’s preconstruction process and bridge early-stage project development with execution. $105K–$120K base + annual bonus
As the Preconstruction Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing project budgets, schedules, and contracts during the conceptual and preconstruction phases. You’ll collaborate closely with estimators, executives, and project managers to ensure every project launches with clear scope alignment, accurate financials, and a realistic execution plan.
This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President and offers the opportunity to shape a growing department with high visibility across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Lead the preconstruction process from concept through project handoff to operations. Partner with estimators to create, track, and refine budgets for commercial and multifamily projects. Develop detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal capacity. Support contract negotiation and review, ensuring all terms align with project scope and budget. Coordinate resource planning and staffing needs in collaboration with estimators and field teams. Oversee subcontractor coordination and scheduling, maintaining smooth sequencing across phases. Collaborate with leadership and project teams to ensure seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
Qualifications 5–7 years of experience in preconstruction within commercial and/or multifamily construction. Strong proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and contract negotiation. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (highly preferred). Familiarity with construction software such as Viewpoint, Bluebeam, Excel, and Office 365. Excellent communication, organization, and client-interfacing skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and hands-on environment.
Preferred Experience Exposure to senior living or healthcare construction projects is a plus. Background in design/build delivery and understanding of integrated project workflows.
