We have a direct hire opening for a Construction Estimator in Anaheim at a commercial general contractor that specializes in tenant improvements and renovation projects across Southern California. You will accurately forecast the costs, materials, and labor necessary for construction projects. Oversee the full estimating process from start to finish, including reviewing plans, identifying all necessary trades, sending out bid invites, performing quantity takeoffs, and comparing subcontractor pricing to produce complete, accurate, and competitive estimates. The work is based in Southern California, with most projects located in Orange County. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow. Start by owning the estimating process with some administrative support for tasks like identifying trades and sending out subcontractor bid requests, and eventually transition into operations once you’ve proven you can manage the work, communicate with the team, and keep projects on track.

Pay and Schedule Information: Salary Range:

$130K–$165K/year to start ( long-term compensation growth up to $175K–$180K+ as you move into operations leadership ) Profit-sharing bonus

of 10% based on company performance 1st Shift:

7 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday Spend 75% in-office and 25% field-based

Job Duties of the Construction Estimator: Estimate commercial tenant improvement and renovation projects for banks, retail, medical, and professional office spaces. Review full plan sets (architectural, structural, and MEP) to understand project scope and requirements. Identify all trades involved in the work, including demolition, framing, drywall, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, finishes, and others. Send bid invitations to subcontractors, follow up for coverage, and confirm pricing for each scope. Review and compare subcontractor quotes to make sure coverage, quantities, and pricing are correct. Perform quantity takeoffs and enter the data into company estimating templates built in Excel. Work directly in Excel to input quantities and pricing, adjust variables like labor and material rates, and confirm that all totals calculate correctly. Review every line item to make sure the estimate is complete and accurate before finalizing. Build full bid proposals that are ready for client submission. Keep all project files and documentation organized in Procore. Provide clarification and support to the project team after award when needed. Job Requirements of the Construction Estimator: Experience estimating commercial construction projects for a general contractor, especially tenant improvement or renovation work. Confident reviewing full plan sets and understanding architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Able to catch missing details or design gaps that could affect the scope or price. Proficient using Excel for estimating Use company Excel templates, update cost variables, and check that calculations and totals are correct Detail-oriented when reviewing formulas, pricing, and spreadsheet data.
