General Hours:

Monday through Friday (some overtime as needed)

Responsibilities Transportation Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Overages, Shortages and Damages - Acts as coordinator of information between sales, claims department, Quality Assurance (Technical Services), customer service and carrier

Collects detailed information of OS&D from carriers and/or customers

Following all Technical Services guidelines to make initial assessment of damages to determine wholesomeness of product.

Collect all necessary information and assist with making any necessary arrangements for outside services.

Distributes information to appropriate groups (QA, plant, sales) and advises customer service of any delays.

Determine the value of products and transportation cost to assist sales and claims department in determining worthiness of resell and least loss to National Beef Packing (NBP)

Communicates re-consignments with carrier and authorize additional freight charges by updating AP system and providing authorization numbers to carrier

Process, document and maintain record of resell information including new ship to, purchase order numbers and pricing to ensure accurate credits and re-bills.

Providing copies to claims department, note systems, maintain EXCEL spreadsheets in NBP ALL USERS and Transportation files.

Arranges Transportation to pick up products upon request

Once products have been delivered and the transportation carrier has left, arrangements for rejected products are made to be picked up and redeliver as requested by claims and/or sales departments.

Carrier Claims Processing

Send out and collect formal claims with transportation carriers.

Work with carrier claims department and insurance company to settle claims and minimize National Beef’s loss.

High level service resolution

Point of contact for sales, NBP customer service and/or Transportation Carrier rep when all normal service options have been exhausted and resolution has not been reached.

Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position.

Qualifications Qualified Candidates for the Transportation Claims Coordinator position should possess the following:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to effectively organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to work in stressful circumstances and interface with various personalities and levels of authority

Reasoning and problem-solving ability

Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required (minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent)

General office skills

Professional Appearance

Good Work Ethic

Customer service experience preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Strong computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
