General Ledger Senior Accountant

to join their high-performing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional seeking a stable, long-term role within a growing company that values accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Position Summary The Senior Accountant will support core accounting operations with a primary focus on maintaining general ledger integrity and ensuring timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. This role includes financial analysis, journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, fixed asset tracking, compliance monitoring, and budgeting/forecasting support. Key Responsibilities Support the Controller in upholding accounting principles, policies, and internal controls.

Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and assist with timely financial close cycles.

Prepare and record journal entries (accruals, deferrals, reclasses, depreciation, intercompany, etc.).

Ensure journal entries and reconciliations include complete support and meet internal deadlines.

Reconcile and analyze complex general ledger accounts monthly in alignment with GAAP and company policies.

Monitor financial transactions for compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

Track capital projects, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules; record additions and disposals.

Assist with accounts payable, payment processing, and 1099 reporting.

Prepare state and city tax filings.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, external audits, and process documentation.

Support continuous improvement and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Key Relationships This role will collaborate daily with Finance and Accounting teammates, and periodically engage with leadership and cross-functional partners. Professional, respectful communication is essential to succeed in this role. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and general ledger functions.

Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, and cost accounting.

Advanced Excel skills required.

Experience in manufacturing accounting preferred.

CPA/Master’s or other professional certification strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of tax regulations is a plus.
