APD is searching for a passionate professional yearning for growth and hands‑on experience. The Senior Civil Designer will be involved in projects from conception to completion, collaborating with a diverse group of talent across multiple disciplines. This role requires proactive problem‑solving, multitasking, and a keen eye for detail while managing and delivering high‑quality construction documents for multi‑site retail markets.
Key Responsibilities
Heavy AutoCAD usage to prepare site layout, grading, storm drainage, stormwater management, utilities, erosion control design, landscaping and lighting layouts, zoning code reviews, and municipal and agency permitting.
Review and interpret surveys and engineering reports (geotechnical, environmental, wetlands, traffic, etc.) for use in site design.
Work with NYSDEC stormwater regulations and demonstrate the motivation and ability to learn similar regulations for other states.
Handle municipal and agency permitting and attend meetings.
Coordinate with utility companies and review design.
Some travel for meetings, site observations, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
BS or pre‑professional degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET‑accredited school.
Proficient with technical software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, truck‑turning, Hydrology, etc.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Google Earth, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
EIT credential.
3+ years of experience with site design.
Retail, QSR, or multi‑site project experience.
