Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for a Remote Manager of Social Work (LCSW) to join our team. This position is fully remote but will be based out of the corporate location in Dallas, Texas. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, with approximately 600+ providers in 300+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. What is the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)? LTIP typically vests over a three-year period and is tied to individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and based on position, performance, and potential for future growth. LTIP awards require continued employment through the payment date and are governed by LTIP terms and conditions.
The position oversees the day-to-day activities of social work at multiple sites, participates in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders for patients requiring emotional and psychosocial support, and serves as a resource to the medical staff. It supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
Manage and mentor social work staff to ensure adequate coverage and quality care. Meet individually with assigned social workers to review case assignments, workflow and productivity. Provide continuous daily support and problem-solving assistance. Address and resolve barriers and provide creative solutions to case problems or issues. Assess skill and performance level of all social workers within sites of responsibility; create growth and development plans for team members. Perform quarterly evaluations and documentation of assigned social workers. Assist Director of Social Work with hiring, promotion, disciplinary actions, and termination processes of social workers. Onboard new employees and provide role support, working closely with Practice Directors. Lead team meetings to address and educate on topics of importance. Conduct routine site visits to locations within the area of responsibility state-wide. Address ongoing training needs, committee oversight, and annual conference planning participation. Develop departmental SOPs, patient and family programs, and quality improvement initiatives. Network and investigate community resources and programs to aid patient care. Offer in-service education programs and serve as a resource to medical staff and the community. Participate in Value Based Care initiatives; coordinate services for patients and staff; collaborate with other disciplines on MIPS/EOM metric task work. Provide coverage for team members as needed, including emotional support, crisis assessment, and non-pharmacologic support for pain, sleep issues, and other concerns. Coordinate site communication and coverage planning during social work position gaps or LOAs. Educate practice stakeholders, providers, and clinic staff on the role of a mental health worker in a medical practice; serve as a resource to clinic staff and physicians. May provide therapeutic counseling to patients, family members, and caregivers as needed; document session notes and billing requirements in a timely fashion if billing applies. Meet with patients and families to administer and follow up on psychosocial needs assessments; consider social support and community resources. Act as an active member of the medical interdisciplinary team; maintain ongoing communication to support patient and family needs. Provide speaking services to groups and organizations to facilitate understanding of the emotional component of the cancer experience. Assist with logistics of growing field placement programs as needed and with supervision for LMSWs as required. Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific differences across late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and elderly populations in clinical contexts. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Social Work. Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Minimum seven (7) years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker. Minimum three (3) years oncology, hospice, and/or palliative care experience desired; at least two (2) years of project management or supervisory experience. Valid and current state master’s-level license. Competencies

Requires full range of body motion including lifting, bending, stooping, walking and standing; ability to lift up to 40 lbs; corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
