Starting Pay Rate: $28.75/hr
Hiring Immediately - No Experience Necessary - Training Provided
Summary: Getting students to school safely, on time, and ready to learn. Safety is the cornerstone of our operations. We offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance; retirement savings plan. All interested applicants begin as a Driver in Training to obtain a CDL and company policies; upon successful training, eligible for a Professional Driver role. Responsibilities
Provides safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other vehicle with a fixed or changing route.
Exhibits ethical conduct and integrity; reports concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervision.
Reports to duty on time and maintains route on time in a safe manner.
Physically assists passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency.
Immediately reports any accident or incident per company policy.
Follows company policies around student and passenger management.
Informs appropriate personnel of problems or procedures.
Presents a neat and professional appearance.
Completes required paperwork (route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submits timely.
Maintains a cooperative attitude with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and passengers while promoting company goodwill.
Safely utilizes vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipment.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
Additional responsibilities may apply for Paratransit Drivers per location.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age; Tennessee drivers at least 25 per state law.
Must possess or be able to obtain all valid applicable state licenses and certifications to operate company vehicles.
Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; safety-sensitive role with random screenings.
Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training.
Must practice defensive driving and maintain safe driving and work habits.
Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract-specific driver requirements.
