Job Description Join CRB as an Electrical Engineer III specializing in architectural building design projects for the food & beverage industry. In this role, you’ll lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for new builds—including power distribution (4160V, 480V, 240V, and 120V), lighting, grounding/bonding, and special systems—while collaborating closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, constructible solutions. You’ll manage multiple complex tasks, set priorities, and mentor junior team members while overseeing electrical scope and budgets for projects ranging from high-level conceptual designs to full detailed design and construction documentation. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact architectural projects using advanced tools like BIM and CAD platforms.
Core Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for building projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.
Prepare calculations (power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop) and design documentation (one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications).
Coordinate with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
Manage electrical design budgets and direct work on small to medium-sized projects.
Assist in proposal development under senior engineer guidance.
Conduct site walks and field surveys to identify non-compliant conditions.
Create internal training presentations on electrical design topics.
Use BIM platforms and Microsoft Office to execute work.
Lead quality assurance efforts and drive overall project quality.
Mentor junior engineers and designers.
Participate in professional development activities and client meetings.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a design firm environment.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE).
Strong coordination skills across disciplines and with construction partners.
Ability to perform intermediate-level design calculations with limited supervision.
Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and equipment.
Willingness to travel for client development, project execution, and training.
