The Nelson research group (https://research.fredhutch.org/peternelson/en.html) at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center has an opening for a Undergraduate Research Assistant interested in prostate cancer research and biomarker development.

Undergraduate Research Assistant Our research team is seeking an outstanding Undergraduate Research Assistant to perform routine work in a research laboratory.

Responsibilities

Prepare media and reagents, such as stock solution

Rinse and prepare glassware for cleaning

Maintain clean and orderly laboratory area

Clean and maintain lab equipment

Check and replenish supplies

Assist with experiments and set‑up

Perform clerical duties as required

Cell culture and maintenance of laboratory cell lines and organoids

Nucleic acid extraction and purification

Processing biospecimens for immunohistochemistry and related assays

Assisting with assays of cancer therapeutics

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Applicants must be at least a first‑year college student or recent graduate with familiarity with cell/tissue culture methods and techniques and familiarity with DNA and RNA extractions

Compensation The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position is not eligible for H1‑B sponsorship at this time.
