Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, we are seeking an
Assistant Director of Strategic Engagement & Healthcare Organizational Leadership Recruitment
who will be responsible for helping develop, lead, and implement innovative marketing and recruiting strategies to attract a diverse applicant pool and matriculating student cohort. In close consultation with the Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Admissions this position will establish, enhance, manage, and evaluate strategic initiatives to achieve enrollment goals across all School of Nursing programs. The position will also coordinate and oversee the recruitment and enrollment of all students in the MSN Healthcare Organizational Leadership and Post-Master Certificate tracks.
To support our recruitment goals, we seek candidates who thrive in a team environment and can build and sustain strong relationships within the Hopkins and Nursing communities and with local and national organizations and programs. The Sr. Admissions Officer collaborates with Admissions leadership to design, implement, and manage recruitment strategies, and provides advice and mentorship in area of expertise. The role may include limited supervisory responsibilities. The position involves in-person and virtual recruitment and may include large projects across the office, working with student volunteer groups, collaborating on office programs, responding to prospective students and families, and engaging university partners. The Sr. Admissions Officer will play a significant role in larger projects aligned with office priorities and goals.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Provide management and oversight for assigned projects and project-based teams within the recruitment function
Collaborate with Admissions leadership in providing ongoing in-house training and professional development
Lead and manage recruitment and application review for an assigned region (domestic and/or international territory) or applicant group
Build relationships and host presentations in the market
Visit high schools and community organizations
Develop knowledge and familiarity with the secondary school landscape in their region
Provide and analyze data and prepare reports to evaluate recruitment strategies
Conduct information sessions, support tours as needed, and respond to routine requests from prospective applicants and families, as well as counselors
Represent and be knowledgeable about the academics, student experience and financial aid programs at Hopkins
Lead programming and events staffing as assigned
Ensure timely and effective compilation of materials for admission committee review
Make scholarship recommendations and ensure accurate entry of admission decisions and scholarship awards
Manage internal and external relationships: faculty, counselors, prospective students and families, current students, university administrators, high school counselors, alumni
Be service- and team-oriented and aware of the needs of a selective private university
May include supervision of other Admissions roles
Engage in additional responsibilities related to specific projects or programs, including hiring and training student volunteers, developing recruitment materials, and expanding international recruitment or diversity initiatives
Travel and night/weekend work may be required
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Five years of progressively responsible related experience
Education or experience substitutions as permitted by Johns Hopkins University equivalency formula
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Understanding of graduate nursing programs
Bilingual or multilingual
Experience working with first-generation students in admissions, financial aid, or student affairs
Experience developing and managing content across digital platforms for student recruitment or higher education outreach
Technical Qualifications Or Specialized Certifications
Knowledge of standard office software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Technical Skills & Expected Level Of Proficiency
