Overview
Senior Network Engineer role at ConsultNet Technology Services and Solutions. Senior Network Engineer — Salt Lake City, UT — 6+ Month Contract-to-Hire: $60-$70 per hour. Design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions across data centers, branches, and cloud environments. Lead or participate in the evaluation and implementation of new networking technologies and tools. Collaborate with peers to develop long-term objectives and modernization efforts for the network infrastructure. Develop and contribute to automation efforts for critical and recurring tasks within the team. Mentor other team members and provide technical assistance to cross-functional teams. Participate in an on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical incidents. Responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions across data centers, branches, and cloud environments. 10 or more years in a network engineering role. Significant experience designing, implementing, and supporting datacenter networks in Spine-Leaf topologies, leveraging VXLAN and EVPN with Cisco Nexus infrastructure. Significant experience with advanced routing configurations, with emphasis on BGP and OSPF. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-managed network solutions including SD-WAN, switches, and wireless; Cisco Meraki experience preferred. Experience leveraging scripting languages and automation to simplify and support complex networks (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required. Preferred: understanding of virtualization, containerization, load balancing, DDoS protection, security. Industry certifications such as CCIE and CCNP. Experience designing and supporting cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure). Experience with network monitoring and performance tools (SolarWinds, Grafana/Prometheus, Wireshark, and similar). Education
