Overview Specular Theory is seeking a DevOps Engineer
to support our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure Container Apps and DevOps Pipelines, capable of maintaining and creating new pipelines, improving the existing setup while ensuring secure and reliable deployments for Laravel-based applications.
Responsibilities
Skilled in writing and maintaining YAML-based pipeline configurations for Azure.
Building reusable, easy to maintain and expandable Azure Pipelines.
Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for multiple environments and understanding the SDLC.
Maintain and deploy Docker-based Laravel applications on Azure Container Apps.
Utilize environment variable management, secrets configuration, and secure connection handling (SSL, certs).
Configure and troubleshoot integrations such as Azure Webhooks, Service Hooks, and Teams build notifications.
Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation and cleanup of deprecated resources.
Ensure all created code and systems conform to the best security standards.
Create documentation on all systems and processes, including how-to docs and technical specifications.
Required Experience
3+ years of experience in DevOps and/or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, Azure Container Apps, and CI/CD best practices.
Proficiency with Docker, Linux, and Laravel app deployments.
Experience managing hosted MySQL or MariaDB in cloud environments (migrations, backups, SSL).
Familiarity with Azure networking and security integrations in pipelines (certificate usage, connection strings, environment isolation).
Experience with webhooks and Teams integrations (Service Hooks, Incoming Webhooks).
Comfortable writing or maintaining infrastructure documentation and handling operational cleanup.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with Git branching strategies (e.g., feature → main) and release automation.
Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow tools.
Basic scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Understanding of containerized app monitoring, configurations and logging (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
Location, Term, and Eligibility This is an on-site position (5 days/week) in Venice Beach, CA. The hourly rate range for this position is $60-$70/hour. This is a short-term position for 3-6 months. You must be currently authorized to work in the United States. We do not offer sponsorship for this position.
