Job Summary We are seeking a manufacturing engineering intern to support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and engine assembly. The role involves learning modern manufacturing methods, applying Lean and Six Sigma, ensuring quality through risk assessment and root‑cause analysis, and participating in project management and supplier collaboration.
Essential Responsibilities
Learn and understand state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing methods.
Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and overall engine assembly.
Maintain high‑quality standards via risk assessment, root‑cause analysis, corrective action, and statistical controls.
Ensure safe work conditions through Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives.
Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive productivity, on‑time delivery, and stable operations.
Support delivery efforts for sourced components by collaborating with shops and suppliers, developing project management and negotiation skills.
Qualifications / Requirements
Prior GE Aerospace internship experience required.
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Full‑time, registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program (accepted majors listed below).
Willingness and ability to work at any of GE Aerospace’s 35+ U.S. locations.
Reliable transportation; many sites lack public transportation.
