The Role:

As part of Americas Research Laboratories reporting to the Group Leader, you will provide packaging support for mass market beauty care products, creating growth by developing innovative consumer preferred packages and products. You will lead the conceptualization, initiation, development, and implementation of new and improved packages and processes including design generation, prototype development, functionality and quality testing, technical specifications, mold and machinery qualifications, and technology transfer.

What you will do:

Conduct core research to explore, investigate, and pursue initiatives that align with the long‑term goals of R&D and the Consumer Care Business Unit to create unique user experiences, improve package functionality, and achieve sustainability goals.

Identify and develop package systems and component conceptualization by working with cross‑functional teams to provide package solutions based on consumer usage, cost requirements, formula attributes, and meeting the needs of the package structure brief, including ergonomics and aesthetic equity.

Manage the concept from idea to prototype, including consumer acceptance. Conduct and complete design engineering encompassing technical design review, failure mode & effects analysis, and the development and completion of all test plans. Effectively utilize the Package Development Laboratory to coordinate and execute lab evaluations, quality control procedures and standards to support the effective design, validation, and implementation of new packages and packaging technology.

Implement the package by managing all tooling construction and qualification, making necessary adjustments based on production trial results, ensuring manufacturing capabilities and quality needs are met, and writing the final specifications for production.

Prepare and present business and technical information in a way that is accessible to both technical and non‑technical groups.

What you will need:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics or Packaging Engineering Science.

1+ years of experience.

Domestic and international travel required on an as‑needed basis to events, conferences, manufacturers, and other office locations.
