Upon successful completion of this track in the FAST development program, rotators are welcomed as Field Application Engineer on TI's worldwide Sales & Applications team. Responsibilities
Act as a technical consultant to solve design challenges with the TI portfolio to become a trusted advisor for your customers Understand the basics of analog circuitry including op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, and sensing Build up specific knowledge in your customers' applications and relevant TI portfolio to make system-level proposals to maximize TI's revenue Create and understand block diagrams based on your customers’ applications (examples: EV charging, Heat Pump, Head-Up Display) Build up relationships with the engineering department at your customers Leverage market knowledge and data insights to discover business opportunities and independently develop creative approaches Your start as a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) through FAST
The 12-month FAST Development Program
prepares future Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) for their role as technical experts in the TI product portfolio. The program provides hands-on experience, training, and mentoring. During the program, you will have access to various departments and gain insight into long-term development opportunities at TI. The trainee program includes four rotations*: Rotation 1: Local sales office (Field Sales Office, FSO), 5 months – France: learning customer interaction and solving technical challenges at the customer site, with focus on system-level technical advice and design/cost considerations. Rotation 2: Mass-Market Team, 3 months – France: using data-driven solutions and automation to optimize sales; practical exercises to develop hybrid sales techniques and digital customer relationships; develop independence and direct customer communication skills. Rotation 3: Systems Engineering & Marketing (SEM) team, 3 months – Freising (Germany): hands-on experience with TI’s product portfolio, product & PCB layouts, production insights, circuit development, and design validation. Rotation 4: Headquarters Experience, 1 month – Dallas (USA): building a multi-level network with stakeholders and experiencing TI’s resources at the Dallas campus. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field Fluent in local language and English, both written and oral Basic understanding of schematics, layouts and digital components Knowledge and understanding of analog circuitry (examples include op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing, etc.) Experience with lab equipment, like oscilloscopes, and soldering and debugging skills Preferred qualifications
Programming skills in C/C++ (LabVIEW recommended) Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in teams and collaborate with people in different functions Strong time management skills enabling on-time project delivery Ability to build lasting, influential relationships inside and outside the organization Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment Ability to take initiative and drive for results Ability to influence decisions with urgency and competitive drive Why TI?
