Injection Molding Technician – Floor Supervisor

to lead the day-to-day operations on the production floor for our

medical consumables

manufacturing line. This role combines technical expertise in injection molding with frontline leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate has experience in cleanroom manufacturing and will be responsible for overseeing machine operation, technician performance, quality adherence, and production output.

Hands-on experience with mold handling, installation, and rebuild/maintenance are required.

Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on leader to manage the day-to-day operations on the production floor for the medical consumables manufacturing line.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Duties:

Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of injection molding technicians and operators across assigned shifts.

Coordinate daily production activities to meet output, quality, and safety goals.

Monitor staffing levels, break schedules, and shift handovers to ensure smooth operations.

Train new team members on machine operation, cleanroom protocols, and SOPs.

Communicate effectively with upstream and downstream departments (Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Materials).

Technical Duties:

Set up, start, adjust, and shut down injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

Perform mold changes and ensure machine settings are optimized for cycle time, quality, and material usage.

Troubleshoot process or equipment issues and escalate complex problems as needed.

Ensure all production documentation, including batch records and setup sheets, are completed accurately and in compliance with

GMP

and

ISO 13485

standards.

Conduct in-process inspections and support quality assurance initiatives, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all cleanroom and safety protocols are followed, including gowning procedures, contamination control, and safe equipment operation.

Enforce adherence to company policies, FDA regulations, and internal quality standards.

Support and lead 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives on the floor.

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in

injection molding , with at least 1–2 years in a

leadership or supervisory role .

Experience in a

medical device

or

medical consumables

manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials (medical-grade polymers), and mold setup.

Familiarity with

GMP ,

ISO 13485 , and

FDA -regulated production.

Ability to read technical drawings, work instructions, and use inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

RJG or Scientific Molding certification.

Experience with automation, robotics, or vision inspection systems.

Knowledge of ERP/MES systems and cleanroom manufacturing software.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical and Work Environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Work in a

controlled cleanroom environment

wearing full PPE (gown, gloves, mask, etc.).

Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and attention to fine detail.
