Job Description
Position Overview
The company’s Reactor-Scale Modeling team is seeking a
Computational Chemistry Modeling Engineer
to support ongoing development of its
plasma reactor simulation capabilities . The team recently implemented a new
computational chemistry platform (Quantemol-EC)
to improve how
gas-phase reaction chemistry
is represented within its reactor-scale models.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in
computational chemistry, plasma physics, or multiphysics simulation
who enjoys bridging fundamental reaction data with real-world reactor behavior.
Key Responsibilities
Operate Quantemol-EC (or similar software)
to calculate electron impact cross-sections for
plasma process chemistries .
Analyze
and
validate computed data using literature ,
experimental , or
published cross-section data .
Collaborate with reactor modeling engineers and plasma scientists to integrate chemistry data into reactor-scale plasma simulations.
Perform data analysis, validation, and documentation of cross-section datasets and modeling results.
Support R&D efforts to enhance the predictive accuracy of plasma process models used in semiconductor tool design.
Required Skills
Proven experience with
Quantemol-EC ,
Quantemol-P , or
similar computational chemistry
or
plasma modeling software .
Strong background in
computational chemistry ,
physics ,
plasma science , or
chemical engineering .
Understanding of
electron-molecule interactions ,
gas-phase kinetics , or
reaction rate modeling .
Proficiency in
data analysis ,
scripting , and
scientific computing
( Python, MATLAB , etc.).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to present complex results clearly to cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
Prior experience in plasma etch, deposition, or reactor modeling within the semiconductor or materials processing industries.
Familiarity with R-matrix methods, DFT/MD simulations, or molecular modeling of gas-phase reactions.
Experience with COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS Fluent, CFD-ACE+, or other reactor-scale simulation platforms.
Understanding of semiconductor plasma systems, thin-film processing, or vacuum-based manufacturing environments.
