About the Agency The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is your fiscal watchdog. We audit more than $100 billion in state assets and liabilities each year, bringing transparency to local, state, and federal government. Our reports and findings include recommendations that result in good government reforms. OSA thoroughly investigates alleged cases of fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer dollars, working with law enforcement on prosecution when warranted.
Description Of Work The Performance & Strategic Consultant (P&S Consultant) will administer the State of North Carolina’s North Carolina Valuing Individual Performance (NCVIP) Performance Management Program by partnering with divisions to develop impactful SMART goals and leveraging its tools for optimal results. The P&S Consultant will also guide and support agency employees and managers through every step of the performance management process, ensuring clarity and compliance.
The P&S Consultant will also play a role in facilitation of the OSA strategic plan. It will empower divisions to align their work with OSA’s mission and vision, encourage innovative thinking, and drive support for strategic initiatives. It will also help divisions translate strategic objectives into measurable action goals and plans and serve as an Agency Champion fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expertise in performance management administration, particularly under the construct of the State’s NCVIP program
Experience in strategic planning facilitation or organizational development
Strong facilitation and communication skills, able to engage with employees at all levels, both internally and externally
Recruitment Range: $53,164 - $90,000
