Here's What You'll Do

Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in daily life. Provide complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADLs).

Essential Functions

Pick up/drop off individuals from/to their home/facility (if necessary) using a personal vehicle. Facilitate departure and arrival for work or daily community integration activities.

Outline, teach and prepare daily routines for clients (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan (IPP). Include life skills such as mobility training, work and community participation.

Support the needs and goals of each consumer by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.

Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.

Support social engagement by accompanying clients to visit family/friends and participate in leisure/recreation activities.

Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, and changing undergarments/clothing if needed.

Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.

Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience: 3+ years supporting adults with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors are strongly preferred.

Minimum Driving Experience: Valid in-state driver’s license, over 21, current registration and insurance, driving record with no more than 2 points in the last 3 years.

CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred or willing to obtain within first 6 months of hire.

Must have First Aid / CPR.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling.

Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
