About The Position Job Title: Radiologic TechnologistJob Specialty: Diagnostic ImagingJob Duration: Not specifiedShift: Day - 8x5 - 09AMGuaranteed Hours: Not specifiedExperience: Prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist preferredLicense: ARRT registration in Radiology (R)Certifications: Current BLS Certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer)Must-Have: Ability to work legally, pass background checks, pass drug and alcohol tests if applicable, and complete an employee health meetingJob Description:- Responsible for the quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation- Provides patient education and quality patient care while adhering to regulatory compliance- Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including X-ray and Fluoroscopy, with C-arm, and Operating Room work- Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards, and ensures the protection of female patients from harmful radiation- Performs quality controls following manufacturer recommendations and operates equipment accordingly- Executes exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or in coordination with a Radiologist- Assists with clerical duties and patient transportation as needed- Manages telephone calls, redirects appropriately, and records messages accurately- Supports and may train or cross-train imaging staff members- Reports equipment downtime and notifies the manager promptly- Displays a professional and caring attitude and practices flexibility to cover emergencies- Uses independent judgment and can work with minimal supervision- Communicates with Radiologists on urgent or emergent cases, providing necessary physician contact information- Obtains informed consents and documents medical history relevant to patient procedures- Participates as a positive and supportive team member across hospital staff- Manages and maintains supply inventory- Submits all necessary documentation to Health Information Management and the Radiologist- Troubleshoots equipment problems and liaises with service engineers when needed- Verifies exam orders, identifies patients through two identification means, and educates them on exams- Ensures paperwork completion and availability of prior studies before Radiologist review- May be required to work weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed- Participates in departmental cross-training in other imaging modalities, such as CT, MRI, DEXA, and Mammography as encouraged- Abides by attire/dress code policies and maintains a professional representation of the organization- Maintains patient confidentiality, punctuality, and adheres to work schedules- Engages in department and facility performance and quality improvement initiatives- Strives to comply with hospital, state, and federal regulations and policies- Follows policies for infection control, safety, and risk management to ensure a safe environment
