The budgeted salary range for the position is $72,000 to $75,000 annually. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. Opportunity for advancement may be available for the appropriate incumbent.

Job Summary

The Gies Business Office of Access and Community is actively engaged in fostering an inclusive learning and working environment where all are seen, heard, and valued. We provide leadership to units to implement data-informed strategies that empower future business leaders, faculty, and staff to be culturally aware, actively anti-racist, and equity-minded. We support the College's Commitments and Beliefs through our intentional and collaborative engagement with alumni, community members, and corporate partners to reduce inequity, expand access, and enhance belonging. The Associate Director will assist in developing, implementing, coordinating and assessing education programs, services, and activities for Gies Business that promote inclusive practices. The role includes supervision responsibilities and collaboration with the Director of Access and Community.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director with managing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Access and Community

Serve as the primary supervisor for the Access and Community Coordinator, and secondary supervisor for hourly employees as needed

Develop collaborative relationships with units across the college and campus to meet priorities

Assist with monitoring required training for academic professionals, civil service, academic hourly, and student employees, with a goal of 100% compliance

Manage the Gies Business faculty and staff affinity groups and lead DEI Liaisons initiatives

Assess ongoing needs for faculty and staff and develop data-informed strategies to address concerns and opportunities

Design and deliver training sessions, dialogue series, and workshops to enhance access and community engagement

Coordinate and publicize developmental opportunities for faculty and staff related to teaching, research, mentoring, and professional advancement

Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain a diverse workforce in collaboration with the Director

Support College-wide strategic plan implementation and engagement efforts to ensure inclusivity

Engage with the community and represent the Office of Access and Community at events

Partner with the MarCom team to promote OAC initiatives and maintain community relationships

Oversee financial processes: budgeting, expenditures, vendor payments, and compliance with policies

Collaborate on assessment and evaluation tools to measure program impact and inform strategic initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, higher education administration, college student personnel, counseling, or related field

Minimum of 5 years of related experience focusing on community engagement, business education, and program management

Demonstrated supervisory experience including hiring, training, and performance management

Commitment to broadening access and community-building for faculty and staff

Ability to work collaboratively within Gies Business and University contexts

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree

Experience in a College of Business or related educational setting

At least 3 years of supervisory experience for full-time employees

At least 3 years of experience leading faculty and staff development initiatives

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
