Overview

The Brake Test Engineer will be responsible for the validation, testing, and performance evaluation of vehicle braking systems. This role requires hands-on experience in brake system testing and analysis, including data acquisition and on-road validation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of braking systems, driving experience on public roads or proving grounds, and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering functions to ensure safety, quality, and compliance. Note: Braking system experience is mandatory, and valid driving experience is required for this role. Key Responsibilities

Conduct vehicle testing and validation for braking systems on public roads or proving grounds. Perform data acquisition and analysis using CANalyzer and related diagnostic tools. Support validation activities for braking or suspension systems to ensure performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Document test results, prepare technical reports, and present findings to engineering and project teams. Participate in business trips to various U.S. locations (typically 1–2 weeks per trip) to support testing and validation programs. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or related field). 2–3 years of experience in an OEM or Tier 1 environment with exposure to SAE-based testing or validation standards. Proficiency in CANalyzer or equivalent tools for vehicle communication and diagnostics. Hands-on experience in brake system validation, testing, or performance evaluation — mandatory requirement. Valid driver’s license with experience driving on public roads or proving grounds — required. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in suspension system validation or testing (if brake system experience is limited). Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and safety systems. Familiarity with OEM validation procedures and documentation standards. Additional Information

The role requires domestic travel within the U.S. (typically 1–2 weeks per trip, a few times each year).
