This is a remote position with occasional travel for in‑person agency visits. Ideal candidates will live and work remotely in Mississippi or surrounding states.

Pay Range

Base pay: $66,000 – $137,000 per year

Commission and bonus earnings may apply.

Responsibilities

Develop, grow, and maintain diversified books of small commercial property casualty business.

Work closely with agents and brokers to assess risks, determine premiums, set conditions, and negotiate deals that maximize profitability.

Balance data analytics with human intuition to write new accounts and grow successful agent and broker relationships.

Review numbers and data to determine risk selection, premiums, policies, and conditions; identify opportunities for improved growth, profit, and diversification.

Maintain and nurture relationships with agents and brokers, presenting proposals, negotiating deals, and obtaining approvals.

Mentor underwriters, share best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Document account reviews, state‑compliant sign‑offs and referrals, letters of authority, and follow underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications

3–5+ years of relevant experience in small commercial underwriting or related field.

Experience with multi‑line insurance products.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and territory management skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to build rewarding relationships with agents and brokers.

Knowledge of insurance finance, commercial products, underwriting, risk selection, pricing, regulatory issues, and contract language.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; professional designation (CPCU or similar) preferred.
