This Position reports to: Product Marketing Manager.

Overview In this role, you will have the opportunity to design promotional strategy in line with the sales strategy. Each day, you will ensure the planning and timely execution of promotional activities with appropriate technical content for the assigned target audience. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Technical Design and Promotions team proactively and ensuring a high level of technical knowledge.

The work model for the role is: hybrid.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in the west region. Main stakeholders are utility and industrial customers.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with consultants, end users, utility and EPC/DBC engineers to define project needs, supply design assistance, product selection, value engineering, budgeting & provide education on ABB digital solutions to gain acceptance of the same into project specifications.

Review and evaluate project specifications and end-user customer requirements to provide digital solutions including schematic diagrams, equipment specifications, configuration files and project budget pricing for digital substation offerings.

Actively participate as a product champion for assigned products or applications.

Be the local product expert in the following products and applications: Intelligent Electronic Device (EID), Protection Relays, Centralized Protection & Software and other Digital Substation Products.

Accountable for creating presentations for Lunch & Learns and utilizing SFDC on a regular basis.

Qualifications B.S. degree in engineering; preferably electrical with a minimum of eight to ten (8‑10) years of experience in the electrical distribution industry, or a master’s degree in engineering with four (4) years of experience in the same.

Strong interpersonal skills. Able to consider multiple viewpoints and resolve technical issues.

Fluent in English; speaking and writing.

Capability to establish and nurture partnership relationships with the regional engineering consulting community is required.

PE certification preferred.

Previous field, plant or design engineering in electrical power systems at major oil and gas companies, electric utilities or industrial facilities preferred.

Knowledge of industry codes and standards; ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL preferred.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
