The Work
Provide product-engineering support for Printed Wiring Board (PWB) and Printed Wiring Assembly (PWA) design across multiple platforms (ground-based, airborne, surface-ship, and under-sea).
Collaborate daily with PWB designers, electrical/mechanical engineers, and production facilities to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
Conduct Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) reviews, update DFM standards, and perform trade-studies of alternative design approaches.
Support the transition of prototypes to full-rate production, delivering technical assistance to internal and external manufacturing sites.
Troubleshoot and resolve design issues identified during production, driving continuous improvement in processes and materials.

Who You Are
Experienced with PWB/PWA manufacturing processes, materials, and related industry standards.
Familiar with military systems design and production life-cycle requirements.
Skilled at performing DFM reviews, trade-studies, and providing technical support to manufacturing.
Strong communicator who can effectively partner with cross-functional teams (design, engineering, production).
Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to continuous improvement and meeting technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
Capable of working in a team environment as well as independently with well developed communications skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels including outside PWB/PWA design and manufacturing facilities.

Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of IPC-2221/22, IPC-6012/13/18, IPC-A-600/610, J-STD-001, and the standards specified within them.
Previous experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials related to PWB/PWA.
Desired Skills In-depth knowledge of PWB/PWA fabrication and assembly processes. Familiar with manufacturing processes for High Density Interconnect (HDI) designs. Ability to identify and evaluate complex sets of dependent PWB/PWA fabrication and assembly processes and develop creative solutions. Experience evaluating designs with DFM software tools such as Siemens Valor NPI (New Product Introduction).

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For other locations, the salary will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. This position is incentive plan eligible.
