Overview
As Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Walk to End Alzheimer’s® ranks as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States, and continues to set the pace as one of the fastest growing walk events in the country. In 2024, Walk to End Alzheimer’s® was recognized as the #2 peer-to-peer fundraising event in the country, including the largest dollar growth of any program in the top 30. Utilizing your proven networking and relationship-building skills to cultivate key community connections, you will drive success and achieve revenue goals by identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders and building sustainable volunteer committees. As a fundraising leader managing multiple peer-to-peer fundraising events annually, you will generate enthusiasm in the community for Walk to End Alzheimer’s, coach and inspire volunteers to implement and expand proven strategies and best practices that drive year-over-year event growth. What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 3-5 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals OR 3-5 years successful experience of meeting sales targets Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter, able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture corporate relationships and partnerships Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion, in a highly matrixed organization Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication and follow-through Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car. Travel is time spent away from the office to fulfill job goals. Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required for committee meetings, Walk and wraparound events Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software Responsibilities
Build and sustain sustainable corporate and community relationships that contribute to achieving event revenue goals, greater community participation, and heightened brand awareness Recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to implement best and proven practices for fundraising goals; adapt training to leverage sales/relationship development background Manage multiple volunteer-led mass-market events simultaneously with year-over-year revenue growth Convene and foster a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment that yields long-term community relationships Meet or exceed designated revenue and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships Prospect, cultivate and steward event teams, sponsors and participants Manage event budgets, train volunteers, set timelines and milestones, and use data to drive positive outcomes Role Details
