Join Our Team at Taft as a Litigation Docketing Specialist! Are you an experienced Litigation Docketing Specialist with a passion for supporting legal teams? We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of docket experience to manage and maintain electronic calendars for litigation activities, deadlines, and obligations. At Taft, we prioritize a 'Client First' philosophy, ensuring top-notch service for our clients. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret various legal documents to identify and extract upcoming events and requirements for docketing. Create and update events in CompuLaw from notifications and requests, including manual date calculations when necessary. Ensure data accuracy within the CompuLaw software, as precise calendaring and docketing are crucial for the Firm's litigation practice. Engage professionally with court personnel, attorneys, and staff to gather data, answer inquiries, and resolve issues. Prepare and distribute both routine and specialized reports as needed. Research and stay current on changes in court procedures across various jurisdictions. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of docket experience with a rule-based calendaring system (such as CompuLaw, CourtAlert, or eDockets). Familiarity with federal, state court, and agency rules. In-depth understanding of the legal process and court operations in different jurisdictions. Able to read, comprehend, and interpret complex legal documents, including pleadings. Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide information courteously in person, over the phone, and in writing. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to follow verbal and written instructions effectively. Competence in basic mathematical functions necessary for date calculations. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to handle a high level of mental effort and occasionally work over 40 hours per week.
