Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief, Human Resources, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) serves as the Department’s Labor Relations Officer, responsible for managing all aspects of collective bargaining, AB 119 reporting, and grievance administration.

The incumbent also conducts administrative investigations related to employee performance and conduct and oversees the adverse action phase of the progressive discipline process, including consultation and coordination with the Office of Legal Services.
