Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation\'s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Acute Care Medicine manages patients with a full range of clinical issues and provides advanced training to bring new nurses to the highest level of functioning. Each unit is led by a clinical manager and lead charge nurse, supported by an interdisciplinary team including a case manager, social worker, physical therapist, dietitian and pharmacist. This position is in the 6200 Acute Care Medicine unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (South Campus) on a 25-bed unit.
Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.
Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
Develops, implements, and documents plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver.
Communicates the plan of care effectively across the continuum of care and supports patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
Uses nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values, beliefs, and cultural factors.
Adheres to safety expectations; this is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe performance of duties.
Minimum Requirements
Education : Nursing Diploma/Associate's

Supervisor Experience : No Experience required
Licenses & Certifications : RN
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
