Job Summary
This position is for the NCRC Range Modernization (RM) Infrastructure Engineer position providing hardware and network design, installation, configuration, and support associated with their designated NCRC product scrum team.
Responsibilities
Perform as an infrastructure engineer on an NCRC product scrum team.
Support resolution of open program problem reports (PPRs) associated with their designated NCRC product scrum team.
Develop design and configuration artifacts associated with hardware and networking devices.
Maintain configuration managed artifacts associated with NCR hardware.
Support hardware obsolescence and technology refresh activities.
Support cyber range capability assessments, evaluations, and technology prototypes.
Provide remote site support for setup, configuration, and delivery activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant topics.
Three (3) years or more of related, proven experience performing similar duties.
High-level knowledge of server architectures; networking devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls); operating systems; network configuration and routing protocols; enterprise and consumer IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage).
Knowledge of computer and information networks, such as LAN, WAN, intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
Knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies and alternative solutions.
Experience with using and configuring Linux-based operating systems.
Experience with project logistics and working with controlled engineering baselines.
Ability and experience effectively communicating technical and programmatic issues.
Demonstrated ability to work within teams.
Strong organizational skills.
CompTIA Security+ (or higher) Certification.
Top Secret clearance eligibility.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree with a focus in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or five (5) years or more of related, proven experience performing similar duties.
Strong experience with Linux-based operating systems.
Experience with design and installation of centralized storage solutions.
Experience with advanced storage solutions and file systems such as ZFS, BTRFS, ReFS, etc.
Experience with Cisco networking devices.
Knowledge of Dell server architectures and maintaining Dell servers.
Experience or knowledge of Splunk.
Experience or knowledge of Veeam-based backup solutions.
Experience with maintaining multi-tenant data center architectures.
Experience with complex enterprise infrastructures using various operating systems and configuring domain services such as AD, Exchange/email, DNS, DHCP, VPN, databases, IIS, Apache, etc.
Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, Docker, HyperV, Xen, Kubernetes, etc.
Experience with software defined networking and network function virtualization.
Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, TFTP, DNS, FTP, etc.
Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and Git.
Experience evaluating and applying Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements.
Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies and tools.
