The SoC is within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering at the University of Georgia (UGA). Responsibilities
The position is a tenure-track appointment starting August 2026, with SoC as the tenure home. Collaborate across SoC and IAI in research and teaching; contribute to undergraduate and graduate education, and mentor students. Engage in high-quality research with emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, including areas such as health-oriented, human-centered, or gaming AI, and ethical considerations. Contribute to the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the broader UGA community through interdisciplinary collaboration. Qualifications
Minimum for Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field with a strong record of high-quality publications. Minimum for Associate Professor: established record of external research funding and demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; tenure-eligible credentials per University guidelines and approval for tenure upon appointment if applicable. Candidates for all ranks should have qualifications commensurate with University of Georgia promotion and tenure guidelines; further details available at the provost/faculty affairs site.
