Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Supplier Quality Engineer for the Palmdale, CA location.
Specific Tasks
Support program by investigating supplier‑caused issues and providing solutions on resultant actions to mitigate escape and impact on the production line or to the customer.
Work with other NGC sites (Melbourne, Moss Point, Palmdale, Redondo, El Segundo, etc.) for impact and reach across. Provides Supplier Quality (SQ) leadership for the program and is the point of contact for all supplier related activities and actions.
Collaborate with program management, engineering, Global Supply Chain, functional leadership, and Supplier Management Teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers.
Foster proactive relationships with all program functions and leadership to ensure timely and accurate execution of the SQ statement of work (SOW). Generate and present supplier performance metrics to support program (i.e., Program Corrective Action Boards) and customer reviews.
Support SQ requirements development, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), supplier pre‑award capability assessments, source selection evaluations, supplier quality audits, and supplier performance assessments.
Evaluate supplier non‑conformances, identify negative performance trends and failures for supplier root cause investigation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Review and accept supplier Corrective Action responses.
Perform stock purges on nonconforming materials and generate MES nonconformance tags accordingly.
Track and manage supplier Corrective Actions, Stock Purge activities, non‑conformance documentation, and related activities.
Keep management apprised of supplier performance, quality status and risks.
Determine the resources required to execute the SQ SOW to ensure team success, lead the resources, and ensure the resources are adequately trained.
Extensive use of electronic systems, applications, and products (SAP, MES, SEP, SIT PDM, etc.).
Support onsite QMS and customer audits for Supplier Quality.
Basic Qualifications
8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD in Aerospace industry with experience in Manufacturing, Quality Engineering or Engineering.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) experience with use of investigation tools (5Y, Fishbone, ETC.).
Understanding of Quality Management System Standards including AS9100, AS9102, and AS5553.
SAP experience, specifically with the Supplier Quality transactions.
Working knowledge of using MES.
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Experience with the NGAS Procurement Processes including the Supplier Quality Assurance requirements (SQAR).
Salary Range Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
