As a leader in the IRIS team, you will collaborate with senior executives and various lines of business, implementing creative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact the company. This high-visibility position demands a seasoned risk management expert capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and contributing immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the IRIS team, overseeing Issue and Event management, risk data quality, and governance of risk mitigation plans.
Play a pivotal role in the integration of Discover Financial Services into Enterprise Services.
Collaborate with both horizontal and vertical risk program teams to develop user-friendly risk management solutions.
Engage with process and risk owners to influence outcomes directly benefiting the company's performance.
Enhance risk management processes and reporting using data and technology.
Drive cross-functional collaboration across diverse risk programs and business areas.
Deliver large and complex projects effectively, demonstrating strong quantitative skills for data-informed decisions.
Serve as a trusted advisor in Tech and Cyber risk discussions, fostering a culture of innovation while protecting our stakeholders.
Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and enhance risk strategies.
Manage project and program delivery, including interactions with Internal Audit and regulatory agencies, drafting reports for senior leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Technology, Risk Management, or External Audit.
7 years of experience managing IT audits and risk assessments.
7 years of experience in project, process, or program management.
4 years of experience in people management.
2 years of experience working in an Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Technology, Risk Management, or External Audit.
At least 10 years of project, process, or program management experience.
8 years of experience in information security and technology risk assessments.
3 years of experience in the Financial Services industry with knowledge of regulatory practices.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP.
Exceptional communication skills for all organizational levels.
This role is based in McLean, VA, and the local salary range is $226,000 - $257,900. We also offer competitive performance-based compensation and a comprehensive benefits package focused on your well-being.
