Overview

The Construction Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of school modernization and educational facility projects. This role demands strong leadership, technical knowledge, and familiarity with public school construction standards. The Project Manager ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Lead pre-construction meetings, site walkthroughs, and progress reviews. Oversee the coordination of design, procurement, and construction activities. Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality performance. Technical Oversight Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for constructability and compliance. Ensure adherence to DSA, ADA, LEED, and local/state building codes. Monitor on-site safety, quality control, and inspection processes throughout the project lifecycle. Stakeholder Coordination Act as the primary liaison between school district officials, architects, engineers, and contractors. Provide timely progress reports and updates to leadership and clients. Contract & Budget Management Prepare bid packages, review proposals, and assist with contractor selection. Negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and control project costs. Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and reporting requirements. School-Specific Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate construction activities to minimize disruption to ongoing school operations. Work with school administrators to maintain safe access routes for students and staff. Manage unique logistical challenges in occupied school environments. Typical Tasks Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies. Prepare and submit permits and DSA documentation. Track and log RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists. Lead final inspections and ensure smooth project closeout and handover. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience managing school or public works construction projects. Strong understanding of Design-Build and Lease-Leaseback delivery methods. Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar project management tools. OSHA certification and knowledge of Prevailing Wage compliance required.
