Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Metrology Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT. We work a 9/80 work week, which gives us every other Friday off to pursue passions outside the office. Travel is up to 10%, all within the continental US and typically involves a 2-3 day trip once per year. We support the fabrication of composite and metallic piece parts and large assemblies in defining and collecting data during the build process using portable metrology systems such as laser trackers (Leica). This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace projects. Responsibilities

Create, validate, and execute Coordinate-Measuring Machine (CMM) programs in support of large-scale composite and metallic aircraft components and assemblies and associated tooling Develop and document best practices and procedures to effectively align all inspection plans across the different products Properly evaluate and interpret engineering models, GD&T intent, and inspection results Manage daily metrology workflow to drive efficiency and optimal resource utilization Develop solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and innovative thinking Perform measurements and data post-processing using portable metrology systems such as Leica Complete and maintain inspection records and nonconformance reports with accuracy and timeliness Perform process checks/audits on all materials and equipment used on CMM Serve as the main metrology interface between engineering and metrology inspectors Qualifications

Metrology Engineer Level 2:

Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 1 year engineering work experience, or Masters in STEM with 0 years of experience Knowledge and practical experience using metrology equipment (e.g., Leica, Scantech, Verstek, Nikon) Understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and able to interpret engineering drawings and models Experience with CAD (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, CATIA) Active DoD clearance required prior to start but not to apply Active Special Program Access (PAR) required prior to start but not to apply Principal Metrology Engineer Level 3:

Bachelors degree in STEM and 4 years engineering work experience, or Masters in STEM and 3 years of engineering experience, or PhD with 0 years of experience Knowledge and practical experience using metrology equipment (e.g., Leica, Scantech, Verstek, Nikon) Understanding of GD&T and able to interpret engineering drawings and models Experience with CAD (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, CATIA) Active DoD clearance required prior to start but not to apply Active Special Program Access (PAR) required prior to start but not to apply Preferred Qualifications

Experience performing metrology evaluations and data interpretation of large composite and metallic assemblies Experience with tooling both lamination molds and assembly tooling Knowledge of composite materials Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
