The Purchasing Coordinator plays a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly by overseeing all aspects of warehouse management. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, purchasing and replenishing supplies, and processing internal purchasing requests. The Purchasing Coordinator will serve as the primary receiver for all incoming orders, manage dock loading and unloading, and ensure materials are organized and accessible. In addition, this role will handle vendor relationships and negotiations to secure the best value and service. This position does not include fleet or driver management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure optimal performance and service delivery. Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials and office supplies. Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders through completion. Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues with the supplier. Monitor inventory levels using the incoming warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure adequate stock is available while minimizing excess purchases. Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts. Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure materials arrive to meet project timelines. Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and budgets. Oversee the supply chain management activities including purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse distribution. Coordinate with the Team Lead to align vendor capabilities with operational needs. Follow shipping and receiving policies and processes to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining high standards of quality. Assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, conditions, and pricing. Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings in purchasing. Qualifications
Experience in purchasing, inventory, or warehouse support in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and warehouse operations preferred. Strong computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills. Reliable and a team player. Able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Familiarity with inventory systems is preferred. Previous experience in vendor or supplier relationship management. Forklift certification is a plus.
