After School Group Leader - Christa McAuliffe School, Concord, NH. The position is available from August through the end of the school year, with the possibility of summer work at one of the summer camps. Base pay range
$13.65/hr - $17.47/hr Responsibilities
Prepare Youth for Success: Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes and promotes program participation through age-appropriate day-to-day activities in line with established expectations. Member orientation: Assist in orientating new members to the Club’s daily scheduling and program expectations (Be Safe, Be Kind, and Take Care). Guidance and role modeling: Provide guidance, constructive feedback, and support to promote development and skill building in program area(s). Safety and conduct: Demonstrate leadership through safety and licensing best practices to ensure proper conduct and safety of members. Attendance: Continuously account for members in their assigned group by name, face, and written attendance. Space upkeep: Oversee and assist in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining program space and upkeep. Program Development, Implementation and Supervision: Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities; monitor and evaluate for safety, quality, and appearance; ensure well-ventilated, well-lit spaces with safe equipment; adapt programs to member needs and diversity. Documentation and communication: Document issues through injury/incident reports and communicate with child care licensing and DCYF when applicable. Meetings and events: Participate in staff meetings and special programs/events; facilitate effective communication with families, staff, and members. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
Age: 17+ with one of the following qualifications: Experience working with school-age children (totaling 600 hours); Documentation of at least 3 college credits in child development, education, recreation, or related field; Documentation of being a certified coach; Documentation of 5 years of parenting experience; or Documentation that you were qualified and employed as a group leader in a school-age program on or before 2022 adoption of rules. Employees who are 19+ may be assigned to the senior program. Knowledge of youth development; ability to motivate youth and manage behavior; ability to communicate with parents/guardians; ability to plan and implement quality programs; ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. CPR and First Aid Certifications required to meet licensing requirements. Occasional travel for meetings/training may be required. May be asked to drive the Club van/short bus occasionally (21+ years; safe driving record required). Must submit a copy of driving record to the Operations Director or human resources. All candidates will submit to FBI fingerprint background checks and state background checks. The State of NH licensing bureau may prohibit employment if there are disqualifying findings; even with NH approval, the organization reserves the right to determine employment status.
