Overview
Measurement Specialist/ Sr. Measurement Specialist role at Boardwalk Pipelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for the calibration, gas sampling, testing, operation and maintenance of measurement facilities located near Kiln, MS and surrounding areas, including meters, flow computers, samplers, regulators and associated equipment. The position also covers environmental, health and safety and reliability responsibilities for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system, including recognizing and reporting abnormal and safety-related operating conditions, accident and near-miss reporting, emergency response procedures, regulatory compliance procedures, and repair procedures. The role may require electrical and instrumentation maintenance at the Kiln Compressor Station and participation in the on-call rotation and call-outs for emergencies or abnormal operating conditions at Gulf South facilities.
*Must live within 30 miles of the Kiln facility.*
Responsibilities
Calibrate, sample, test, operate and maintain Gulf South measurement facilities and related equipment (positive meters, turbine meters, rotary meters, ultrasonic, orifice meters, flow computers, samplers, communication devices, regulators, relief valves, valves and valve actuators, transmitters, gas quality monitoring, and automated tank gauging equipment).
Ensure environmental, health and safety and reliability for natural gas transmission; recognize and report abnormal and safety-related operating conditions; perform accident and near-miss reporting and emergency response procedures.
Perform regulatory compliance procedures and repair procedures as required.
Provide electrical and instrumentation maintenance at the Kiln Compressor Station as needed and participate in the on-call rotation.
Respond to call-outs for emergencies or abnormal operating conditions and support activities at Gulf South nearby facilities and stations.
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
2 to 5 years of pipeline and measurement operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience
Strong mechanical and electronic aptitude
Strong safety culture
Strong computer and data process skills
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Valve O&M experience
Organization and record keeping ability
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, the ability to work in extreme weather conditions, and the ability to stand for long durations
Valid driver’s license, a safe driving record
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
4 (plus) years of gas measurement or I&E operations and maintenance experience
Natural gas measurement experience
Working knowledge of DOT 192 is preferred
Chromatograph O&M proficiency
Control valve and OPP O&M experience
Associate Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
Required Education
High school diploma/GED
