OVERVIEW
Job purpose:
The FP&A Analyst, reporting to the FP&A Director, supports and challenges the brands in all sales (wholesale, direct-to-consumer) and costing (margin, expenses) related finance matters (P&L, Capex, other financial KPIs) by providing insightful analytics and actionable suggestions. Coordinates the financial view of sales and cost-related planning, forecasting and reporting activities including the implementation of measurement systems and development of new controlling tools and/or methods of standardization. The FP&A Analyst’s goal is to generate intelligent information through a synthesis of human intelligence, industry knowledge, and technology that provides decision-makers with the knowledge to act, enabling them to make better decisions faster. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Sales-Wholesale: Working collaboratively with the sales team, develop a detailed understanding and provide insightful analytics and actionable suggestions in a proactive manner by spotting trends and questioning data. Identify risks and areas for improvement. Anticipate reporting needs: Total sales, sales by Product Family, and sales by sku Sell Out / Sell In ratio, evolution Inventory in market both at company warehouses AND at wholesale customer locations Margin trends by customer with particular emphasis on gross to net dynamics including discounts and allowances analysis 3rd Party Commissions / Other Selling Costs (i.e., sales incentives) MSRP/MAP change impact; pricing harmonization Product cost maintenance / accuracy Produce and provide monthly insight into the key metrics and dashboards that will be used to make critical business decisions and measure effectiveness and contribution Determine best practices/standardization potential and, together with the sales team, determine implementation plan Sales-Direct to Consumer: Working collaboratively with the direct-to-consumer teams, prepare detailed analysis of relevant metrics to allow determination of trends, areas of improvement, opportunities for standardization/rationalization Prepare timely and insightful financial analysis to measure progress against budget and forecast. Analyze monthly gaps to plan, research and explain variances, and evaluate opportunities for savings Planning & Forecasting: Review & challenge the annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasting processes Communicate planning calendars and implement procedures that ensure timely data submittals Participate in strategic/long-term planning processes and offer value-added input based on a thorough understanding of the business Work closely with other finance and operational personnel on the development, maintenance, and constant improvement of forecasting tools Other: Be an integral member of various project teams to change/improve processes as the company evolves Ad hoc reporting PERSON SPECIFICATION Required Experience BA/BS degree or equivalent Finance/Accounting, Engineering, or Business At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis/controlling, or similar environment Strong base knowledge of accounting, finance, and operations principles Proven track record of creating robust analyses that translates into business decisions Experience in the consumer products industry is a must Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast paced, very high-growth environment Expert proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with BI tools and internal financial applications a plus Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful analysis for non-technical audiences Personal Qualities Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Able to proactively question and challenge to prioritize and identify solutions in timely manner Clear and logical thinker with outstanding numeric ability supported by a rounded commercial awareness Travel Role will be based at our Gathr HQ (Brentwood, TN).
