Job Summary
Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the MRI technologist performs routine to complex magnetic resonance procedures, producing images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. The technologist ensures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements, and seeks and provides feedback for improved clinical practice.
Requirements
Up to 1 year experience as an MRI Technologist
Education
Minimum Associate's Degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program
License/Certification Requirements Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration. MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment. Must also meet state licensure requirements.
Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
Skill in operation of MRI equipment and applicable ancillary equipment.
Ability to work independently and multitask.
Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
Demonstrated understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieval of data.
