The Opportunity This is a pivotal opportunity for an experienced, strategic, mission-driven leader to shape the future of a thriving YMCA and the community it serves. The incoming CEO will lead bold, forward-thinking strategies to broaden the YMCA’s reach and deepen its impact. They will foster partnerships with key stakeholders, guide a passionate staff, and champion safety and child protection across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic plan with volunteers, community leaders, and staff; include defined strategies, an implementation plan with deliverables, and measurable goals.
Build and lead staff; ensure a talent development system, culture competence, and accountability for key objectives.
Improve operating performance by developing an annual tactical plan and addressing issues to sustain safe, relevant operations.
Fiscal management: forecast financial trends, manage operations toward balance or surplus, grow earned revenue and contributions, and develop stewardship strategies.
Position the Y as a vital partner for community change; cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders and uphold YMCA values.
Steward fundraising efforts with an annual plan and capital fundraising as needed; strengthen engagement of members, volunteers, staff, and donors.

CEO Direct Reports: Director of Operations, Director of Accounting and HR, Director of Fund Development, Director of Property & Grounds
Board of Directors: 19 members with multiple standing committees
Financial Snapshot: Budget $3.6M; Debt $851K; Endowment $6M
Residency and Community Engagement Residency in the YMCA service area is required. The CEO should be engaged in the communities served, visible in facilities to members, donors, program participants, and community leaders.
Qualifications and Candidate Criteria
Accredited 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
Experience with budgetary and fiscal management over $3M annually
Minimum five years in a senior management role with supervision of multiple staff
Ability to develop and strengthen community relationships
Ability to develop innovative programs and enhance engagement in communities served
Strategic planning and fundraising experience, including annual campaigns and grants
YMCA Organizational Leader Certification or ability to achieve within 3 years
