We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Engineer to lead our facilities and maintenance operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all engineering activities across our manufacturing and industrial sites. Your leadership will ensure that all mechanical, electrical, and systems-related functions operate seamlessly, maintaining optimal performance, safety, and compliance. As a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage complex projects, and foster a culture of excellence in facilities management.
*Responsibilities*
* Lead and supervise the maintenance team to ensure the reliable operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and low/high voltage systems. * Follow Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize equipment uptime and reduce downtime. * Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), schematics, and control systems critical to manufacturing processes. * Manage facilities operations including HVAC systems, electrical distribution networks, low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and industrial maintenance activities. * Ensure the proper maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM's), repairs, and installations are conducted on all plant equipment. * Coordinate large-scale projects related to facilities upgrades or new installations with internal teams or external contractors while adhering to project management best practices. * Monitoring and ensuring the efficient use of all utilities, practicing energy conservation through usage reduction and cost control. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, asset management through CMMS platforms, and incident reports. * Lead emergency response efforts related to electrical failures or system malfunctions to minimize operational disruptions. * Foster leadership within the team by providing mentorship, supervising daily tasks, and promoting a proactive maintenance culture.
*Qualifications*
* Proven management experience in facilities or industrial maintenance environments with strong supervisory skills. * Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits (including high voltage and low voltage), schematics interpretation, and industrial maintenance practices. * Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, ohmmeters, and troubleshooting electrical issues. * Familiarity with HVAC systems installation, operation, and troubleshooting is highly desirable. * Experience managing CMMS platforms for work order tracking and asset management. * Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines. * Excellent communication skills in English for effective team coordination and reporting purposes. * Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications. * Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics for electrical or mechanical systems. * 3rd Grade Stationary Engineer certification desired, but not required.
