IS and Cyber Security Professional – Intermediate with Security Clearance Summary
OSAAVA Services is seeking an experienced IS and Cyber Security Professional – Intermediate to support the United States Air Force’s Integrated Air Force Network Operations and Security (IAFNOS) contract at Langley AFB, VA. This position is responsible for maintaining, securing, and strengthening the Air Force Information Networks (AFIN) through proactive cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management, and compliance with DoD/USAF security standards. Key Responsibilities
Administer, operate, update, patch, configure, integrate, install, troubleshoot, and maintain vulnerability management systems. Develop and enforce IT security policies and standards to prevent unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. Conduct vulnerability assessments using Air Force-provided tools; scan, track, record, and report vulnerabilities. Upload results to DISA’s Vulnerability Management System (VMS) for review and remediation. Perform patch management for servers, workstations, and network devices. Manage and troubleshoot the Air Force End Point Protection System (AEPS) to safeguard all Air Force client systems. Ensure compliance with DoD/USAF cybersecurity directives, orders, and network defense requirements. Track and document compliance for all required security updates and patches. Collaborate with internal and external teams to maintain security posture and readiness. Provide timely and accurate communication with co-workers, management, and customers regarding system security status and remediation efforts. Required Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance (required at time of application) Minimum of 2 years of experience in information or cybersecurity operations Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of degree DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) Experience with DoD/USAF information security policies and RMF (Risk Management Framework) processes Strong understanding of security control implementation, vulnerability management, and compliance reporting Excellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Air Force or DoD cybersecurity environments Familiarity with DISA STIGs, ACAS, and RMF evidence documentation Knowledge of Air Force Network Defense (AFNetD) operations or equivalent Security Clearance Requirements Active Secret Clearance required for consideration Eligibility for Special Access Program (SAP) information is a plus Physical Requirements
Ability to remain stationary for up to 50% of the time Occasionally move about the office to access files or equipment Frequent use of computers and office productivity tools Regular interaction with co-workers and customers, including presentations and updates Shift Work & Travel
Typically standard business hours with occasional on-call or off-hours support during system updates or incidents Limited travel for government site visits, meetings, or training may be required Job Details
